Social Media Theives
One thing I noticed as I perused the Vinyl Thief archives of Facebook posts, is that they often build up minor developments in their music to be something that we, as “fans” should look forward to. In the world of romance, this is called being a “cock tease” (excuse my French). I have put together a small collection of such posts below (all posts are in Dublin time for obvious reasons):
Vinyl Thief: “We will be playing a secret show Monday night. The entire set will consist of new songs. Watch closely for details.” (June 3 at 10:49pm)
Vinyl Thief: “Info about our secret show tomorrow night coming very soon…” (June 5 at 8:53pm)
Vinyl Thief: “Wrote a 30 minute song tonight. We might shorten it for you, but I can’t make any promises - gp” (May 18 at 7:56am) [Note: I notice that it is rare for any one but GP to speak on behalf of Vinyl Thief]
Vinyl Thief: “I wish we had a time machine…so we could let everyone hear these new songs. I guess you just have to wait. #backtothefuture” (April 11 at 9:31pm)
Vinyl Thief: “NEW SONG UPDATE:
We wrote a new song.
Stay tuned for more updates.” (February 23 at 7:30pm) [Notes: what the fuck]
And my personal favorite:
Vinyl Thief: ”did that really happen at our show tonight!? what!? wow! crazy. oh, you didn’t see it? then come tomorrow.” (February 4 at 11:18am)
